Chattogram: Leading port and terminal operator RSGT Chittagong has announced a job vacancy for the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). The role offers a hybrid working arrangement at the company’s terminal in Chattogram.
The COO will oversee all aspects of terminal operations, including yard operations, gate management, cargo handling, equipment maintenance, and security, while developing both short-term and long-term strategic plans. The position also involves supplier and customer management, budget oversight (CAPEX & OPEX), cost optimization, and ensuring service levels meet international standards.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading terminal operations and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Negotiating and finalizing agreements with suppliers and customers.
- Liaising with shipping companies, customs, trucking firms, port authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives, technology adoption, and operational excellence.
- Implementing SOPs for safe and efficient cargo handling.
- Monitoring KPIs and taking corrective actions to meet performance targets.
- Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) policies.
- Staff development, succession planning, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma.
- Minimum 10 years of international experience in terminal operations management.
- Expertise in container shipping industry, process optimization, leadership, negotiation, and people management.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
